[Abstract]
The scenic space of East Lake in Nanchang developed rapidly during the Tang and Song Dynasties, and gradually transformed into a classical public garden with compound development in the suburbs of the ancient city. It was mainly used as a relatively natural and rustic country lake in the suburbs of the city in the Tang Dynasty. There were landscape buildings along the lake that could be shared by officials and people. Since the Song Dynasty, the East Lake was nationalized, and a large number of official buildings and private gardens appeared one after another, which played a positive role in the construction of the scenic space of the East Lake. Through the analysis and research on the historical evolution process, this paper condenses three main features of the scenic space of Nanchang East Lake during the Tang and Song Dynasties, including the continuous creation of the city and lake together, presenting a multifunctional, natural and simple landscape, and the state capital garden shared by the government and the people.
