Shuri Castle, located in Okinawa, Japan, was the royal palace of the ancient the Ryukyu Kingdom. The architectural style of Shuri Castle is deeply influenced by Chinese architectural culture, and it has special significance for the study of Chinese architectural culture overseas communication. Based on the history of the Ryukyu Kingdom and Shuri Castle, this article systematically explores the influence of Chinese architectural culture on Ryukyu architecture by three levels of consciousness, institutional, and reality, from the overall layout and function, individual shape and style, and the painting and decoration detailof building, and summarizes the important significance of Shuri Castle in architecture culture study.
